LAO is an amine oxide based amphoteric surfactant, compatible with anionic and cationic and non-ionic surfactant. It is also known for its anti-bacterial property and hence a self-preservative in nature. 

Applications - Home care and personal care formulations, Hand dishwashing, machine dishwashing, hard surface care, industrial cleaning, laundry, Shampoos, body wash, bubble baths, hand soaps, wetting agent, emulsifying agent and as a thickening agent. Foam stabilizer and viscosity builder.
